          Private Services:

Private training offers a broad range of assistance to you. Some requests are fairly common, such as potty training, the dog 'ruling' the house, barking, roaming, anxiety, aggression, ignoring owners, or the other end of the spectrum - relentlessly seeking attention. Then there are some of the unique training needs - teaching a dog to ride passenger on a motorcycle or along a bicycle, new baby introductions, or service dog work. I also offer aWelcome Home Puppy Pkgpackage at discounted rates, to get your home and family off to the right foot and paw.

Those are the tips of the iceberg as to the job description - as there are too many common needs/skills to list . There is *no charge* if there is no progress, for my skills are diverse and I stand by my work.

Training is a structured curriculum built towards goals. It is ideal when your entire household can be a part of the training, so that everyone who lives with your pet has the same cues and skills. You can choose the words for commands, what methods are used (with or without clickers and treats), and how you want to relate to you pet, I simply have the job of making it all work together, quickly and consistently.

The private environment does afford you many benefits: We can meet wherever a problem manifests, or train at the pets home as well, where it is already most at ease and receptive. A trainers experienced, undivided attention, and most importantly, customized sessions specific to your needs are the benefits of a private format.

My skills and methods are not physically aggressive, harmful (psychologically nor physically) or brute force tactic (ex: yanking a dog to the ground to 'teach' lay down). I do however encourage leadership, consistency, structure, and timing in paying as much attention to problems, as well as to achievements and strengths. I have refined a 'crash course' setting for clients, as well as intensive work at a deep issue. I offer communication to answer, at any depth you request, not only what and how to do something, but why. Having worked with and learned from many trainers, behaviorists and veterinarians throughout my history, those I learned the fastest and best from were all good teachers as well. If I am not working with you and your pet directly, I am working to answer your questions, offering you opportunities to query through our sessions and beyond. Your questions are always welcomed and encouraged.

  TOP

Free 20 minute phone consultation: This is for you to ask questions, explain your goals, and describe your concerns. It helps us get right to business when I arrive, making paid for time more efficient.

Base Rate: $70.00 per hour. (Prices drop 5.00 an hour when gas drops below 3.00 a gallon)

Reduced Service Rate: $60.00 an hour with *no* written follow up (see "included in visits"), cash or check only.

First visits have a two hour standard time line , though for puppies this is sometimes waived, depending on the concerns at hand. For preventing many of the problems faced with a new puppy arrival, the trainer offers a 'Welcome Home Puppy' package. Trainer will meet with you as close to the home arrival as possible - but within 2 days maximum, stay 2-3 hours in the home working with many variables of care, connection and safety, a book and accessories are included, and a small discount into the group classes and Dog Club of West Linn gift bag will be offered as well. The package is for a fixed rate of $120.00, a substantial private rate discount, because any trainer or shelter worker feels the importance of preventative work is paramount to a happy family. Included in visits:
Drive time and expense to and from your location, within 45 miles (according to Mapquest), each additional mile is $0.50, but most of the metro area is covered in that range.

Also included are clickers (if you want that format), human grade treats (if you want that format), bells (if needed), but most importantly, a written follow up of each session. This helps structure the on going practice needs, remind and organize all that was shared in the visit, especially since I tend to flood you with information to give you the absolute highest quality of time. A written review will help you remember it all clearly. This will include what we covered, and also (examples): home made treat recipes, chew deterrent recipes, answers to questions you asked I said I would elaborate on later in order to focus on training for the visit, as well as a long term look ahead at process and steps to refining what was taught. This aspect of follow through has been a crucial means to support clients and give them the highest value for their time and money.

Rate Reductions:
One free hour for a shelter/rescue adopted animal within 2 weeks of adoption, in hopes of less stress and confusion to all involved, and better retention as a family. 10% discount for weekday, school day/ school hour visits.

There is no additional charge for priority sessions. For example, safety related concerns (bolting from door/ traffic, menacing growls, chewing wires or puppy proofing plants, garden and home, air bite/chomping, aggressive nipping, and more), as well as trying to adopt a pet you need evaluated who is currently in a shelter, and time is limited. I will accommodate meeting with you as soon as possible, often in the same day or next for an assessment.

*Offers cannot be combined* One discount per visit.

Cancellation policy:
24 hour notice, or one hour fee/free. This I hold to both of us at the same standard. If I cancel short notice, you get a free hour. If you cancel short notice, I bill one hour. The policy is one hour fee no matter how long a session we had planned for.

Guarantee:
You'll see progress during our meetings, or there is no charge.

Medical needs:
Dogs must be current on their vaccinations to begin, whether you have the paperwork on hand, or I confirm with your trusted veterinarian.
