Note: None of these listings paid for
linking or recommending. I simply find these resources valuable, and
wish to share them. There are many excellent web sites, services, and
resources not on this list, but I had to use what was the most
frequented listings and make do, I hope you find a start here, and these
nurture you as much as they have me.

Aspca Animal Poison Control Center Hotline
As the premier animal poison control center in North America, the APCC
is your best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours
a day, 365 days a year. If you think that your pet may have ingested a
potentially poisonous substance, make the call that can make all the
difference: (888) 426-4435. A $55 consultation fee may be applied to
your credit card. (Back in the day, there wasn't a charge, but in a
pinch, it is an option).

Many clients are surprised when I mention hot dogs (with garlic or onion
flavoring additives) can be dangerous to dogs, though many people know
chocolate is toxic there are many more less known concerns around your
home. I urge you to read through the lists on this site and take 15
minutes to self educate on these things, there are many surprises for
everyone who has made the time. A terrific site for listings of toxic
foods, houseplants, medicines, and other common dangers in the home and
nearby can be found at:

For adoption, volunteering, there are sooooo many links, I was hard
pressed to put them all down. I will list those I am in a direct working
relationship with, or frequently refer to, but please, do not, under any
circumstances, consider this as your only options. I highly recommend
adopting from shelters, but doing so with clarity of mind as well as an
open heart.
